Privacy Policy
We collect as little as possible. Here is exactly what that means.
What we collect
- What you send us through our contact forms or by email: usually your name, email address and message
- Ordinary server logs: IP address, browser, page requested, date and time
- Cookies strictly needed to serve and cache pages
What we never do
- Sell your personal information, to anyone, ever
- Run advertising, tracking cookies or third-party analytics
- Ask you to create an account or take a payment on this site
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law — PIPEDA, and any provincial law that applies — you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. Email hello@braintrainr.ai and we will respond within the time the law allows.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your request, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Who we are
BrainTrainr is a federally incorporated non-profit organization in Canada. We are responsible for the personal information described on this page. For anything to do with privacy, write to hello@braintrainr.ai.
Where the information comes from
From you. If you email us or use the Contact or Get Involved form, we receive what you chose to send — your name, email address, and your message (on Get Involved, also a subject and whether you want to volunteer, partner or support). The forms send this to our inbox by email; the website itself does not keep a copy.
From your browser. Our host records ordinary server logs when a page is requested. This is how the site is kept running and secure, and it happens on essentially every website you visit.
Why we use it
To reply to you, to operate and secure the website, and to meet our legal obligations. Nothing else.
Who else can see it
Our hosting provider processes data on our behalf in order to serve the site. Beyond that, we share personal information only with your consent, or where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Emails and form messages you send us | As long as needed to deal with your enquiry, and to keep a record of it |
| Server logs | A short period, then discarded, in line with our host’s standard practice |
| Caching cookies | Cleared when they expire, or when you clear them in your browser |
Cookies
This site sets only the cookies needed to serve pages and keep caching working. There are no advertising or tracking cookies. You can block cookies in your browser and the site will still work.
Children
This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We update this page when our practices change — for example, if we add analytics. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
